Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how YourSRE (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit yoursre.com (the “Site”) or engage our services. We collect as little personal information as we can, and we don't sell it to anyone.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name (optional), and the contents of your message. We use this information to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss a potential engagement.
SRE readiness report submissions. The readiness report is scored and generated in your browser. When you generate a report, your assessment answers, company details, email address, and the generated report are sent to us. Written answers that our validation classifies as placeholder or unusable text are excluded before sending. We store submissions in our task management system and use them to review your report where you have requested a review, to respond to you, and, where relevant, to discuss a potential engagement. Your submission is read by a person; we do not feed it to automated or AI systems. Stored submissions are deleted automatically after approximately six months, and you can request earlier deletion at any time.
Shared tool results. The valley finder and taxonomy builder run in your browser. Each offers an optional “send to YourSRE” step — if you use it, we receive your result and email address and store them in our task management system for the same purposes as above. If you don't use it, nothing is sent.
Information collected automatically. Our web server keeps standard access logs, which include your IP address, browser user agent, the pages you request, and the time of each request. We use these logs to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site. Log data is retained only as long as needed for those purposes.
Browser-based tools. Other interactive tools on the Site — such as the downtime cost calculator — run in your browser, and their inputs are not retained after your result is generated. Readiness report answers also auto-save to your own browser's local storage so you can resume later; that copy stays on your device and you can clear it with the tool's “Start over” button.
Cookies and third-party services
The Site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage. The Site also relies on a small number of third-party services to function:
- Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve content and navigation. Google may process technical information about your browser, device, and Site usage. See Google's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare Turnstile protects our contact form from spam. When you submit the form, Turnstile may process technical information about your browser and connection. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- ClickUp is the task management system where SRE readiness report submissions are stored so we can review and respond to them. See ClickUp's privacy policy.
- Content delivery networks serve some JavaScript libraries used by the Site. Your browser makes requests directly to these services, which receive your IP address as part of the request.
How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and provide our services
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site
- To prevent spam and abuse
- To meet legal and accounting obligations where an engagement proceeds
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
Disclosure
We only share personal information with service providers that help us run the Site and our business (such as email and hosting providers), where required by law, or with your consent. Client information obtained during an engagement is treated as confidential and handled in accordance with the engagement agreement.
Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purposes above or as required by law. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the EU/UK GDPR, or state privacy laws in the United States. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
International transfers
We work with clients globally, and our service providers may store or process information in countries other than your own. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives appropriate protection.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page.
